Over a lifetime, a woman's body can experience many changes: as a result of childbirth, chronic disease, surgery or repetitive muscular strain. As a result, many women develop problems with the area known as the pelvic floor—the group of muscles, ligaments, connective tissues and nerves that help support and control the rectum, uterus, vagina and bladder. This condition is called pelvic floor dysfunction.
Urogynecology Associates at Phoenixville is the only practice in the region devoted exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of urogynecologic problems and female pelvic floor dysfunction, including:
- Benign Gynecologic Surgical Problems (e.g., fibroids, pelvic mass)
- Overactive Bladder
- Previous Surgery Without Resolution of Problems or Recurrence
- Urinary Incontinence (involuntary loss of urine)
- Uterine Prolapse, Prolapse of the Bladder, Vagina and/or Rectum
- Voiding Dysfunction (urinary retention)
