Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Every parent wants a healthy baby. Sometimes though, a newborn needs a little help in getting there. We're here to provide round the clock care for sick or premature infants.

In partnership with Nemours duPont Pediatrics, Phoenixville Hospital offers a Level II NICU featuring modern equipment staffed by a dedicated team trained in neonatal intensive care including neonatologists and physicians board-certified in pediatrics and neonatal/perinatal medicine, and neonatal nurse practitioners certified in neonatal medicine and skilled in the care of newborns. In addition to the neonatal team, you may meet with other specialists at Phoenixville Hospital depending on your newborn's conditions, including:

  • Audiologists
  • Pediatric Ophthalmologists
  • Pediatric Sub-specialists
  • Physical/Occupational Therapists
  • Respiratory Therapists
  • Social Services Professionals

Parents are allowed 24-hour visitation access. We recommend that you plan at least an hour for each visit in order to participate in the care routine. Please prearrange visits of grandparents, siblings and other relatives with the baby's nurse.
