MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and uses a strong magnetic field to create images of the body without the use of radiation. MRI provides detailed images of the body, and is often used to image joints such as the knee, shoulder and ankle. It can also be used to view the spinal cord and check for bulging discs. In addition, MRI can be helpful in visualizing blood vessels in the head and neck, and throughout the body. We at Phoenixville Hospital also perform Breast Biopsy, Breast MRI, Cardiac MRI, and multi-parametric prostate with endorectal coil with advanced visualization and analysis for navigational biopsy, when necessary.
